NURU KARIM
“Architecture should be modest. Architecture
should be non-violent. Architecture must be
tolerant. Architecture must be inclusive.
Architecture must innovate. Architecture must
listen.”
• Mr. Karim, your architectural style has been
described as both parametric and
futuristic, and there is a saying that
architectural styles come naturally to some
while others develop their preferences
over time. I'm curious to know, did your
inclination towards parametric and
futuristic design come to you naturally
from the beginning of your architectural
journey, or did you develop this liking over
the course of your career?
“Sustainability in my mind is no longer an option, it is crucial to our
nature holds the key to our survival. We need to look beyond ‘nature’
as needs, but as ‘mentors’ that can guide us through this crisis.”

with a Sustainable and Vernacular
approach?

design norm. Is the process
different for parametric design?
• Parametric design is uncommon in
India how are you finding the
suitable environment to create
design with thatethic?

Malawi ,Africa I am really intrigued by
seamless integration of parametric form
and vernacular material ,could you
explain how you managed to achieve
such fusion?

AI is becoming increasingly
intertwined with architecture.
What are your thoughts on
embracing AI in your
upcoming designs? Are you
ready to incorporate AI into
your creative process?

parametric design and, who
would like to practice style in
India ?
Having noticed your inclination
towards incorporating a wide array of
materials into your projects, we are
curious about the factors that
influence your material selection for
upcoming endeavors. Could you
please shed some light on your
decision-making process in this
regard?
“Innovation is crucial to our commitment as design professionals.
Innovation needs to be viewed as an interactive design process driven
by ideological ,philosophical positions.”

How will be architecture in future in

terms of design concepts?
