Unicorn of the Sea: Narwhals

Narwhals are often called the "unicorns of the sea" because of

the long tusk-like tooth that protrudes from their head. The tusk
can grow up to 10 feet long!

Big and Beautiful: Narwhals are the size of a big truck! They can
grow to be about 13 to 18 feet (4 to 5.5 meters) long. That's as
long as a small school bus!

Swift Swimmers: Even though narwhals are big, they are

amazing swimmers! They can reach speeds of up to 9 miles per
hour (15 kilometers per hour) when they're in a hurry. That's
faster than most humans can run!

Seafood Lovers: Narwhals enjoy a tasty seafood diet. They

mostly eat fish like Arctic cod and flatfish. Yummy!

Troublesome Trash: Unfortunately, narwhals and other sea

creatures sometimes face problems caused by human pollution.
Trash like plastic waste can harm them and their ocean home.

It's important for us to reduce, reuse, and recycle to keep their

environment clean and safe.
