1. Classroom Management/ Preparation

. Opening Prayer

“Let us all stand for a prayer.” The students stand for a prayer.

Good morning, class. Good morning, Ma`am!

. Checking of Attendance

How are you today class?

Fine, ma`am.
Who are absent today?
None, ma’am.
Very good!

network and neural network?
Example: The Wi-Fi network in your
home is a good example of a small
client-server network. The various
devices in your home are wirelessly
connected to the router, which acts
as a central node (server) for the
household.

Connection- refers to the tie that

links actor to one another.

Example: behavioral interactions,

physical connections, association or
affiliation, evaluation of one person
by another person, and even formal
relations.

Relationships- "a collection of ties of

a specific kind measured on pairs of
actors” from a particular group of
social entities.

Example: Family relationships,

Friendships, Acquaintanceships and
Romantic relationships

Social Network- refers to a set of

relations that apply to a set of actors,
as well as any additional information
those actors and relations.

Social networking uses internet-

based social media platforms to
connect with friends, family, or
peers.

Example: some of the most popular

social networking sites in the
Philippines include Facebook,
Instagram, TikTok, Messenger, and
Youtube.

Actor - a social unit that is playing a

role in a larger social system.

THE BRAIN AND THE NERVOUS

SYSTEM AS A NEURAL NETWORK

Neural Network- it is a
computational model of a single
neuron that is made up of one or
more inputs, a processor, and a
single output.

Example: recognizing handwriting

or facial recognition, the brain very
quickly makes some decisions. For
example, in the case of facial
recognition, the brain might start
with “It is female or male? Is it black
or white?

Dr. Robert Hecht-Nielsen, the

inventor of one of the earliest
neurocomputers, defines neural
network or more commonly called
“artificial” neural network (ANN).

Artificial Neural Network (ANN) -

is an attempt to simulate the
network of neurons that make up a
human brain so that the computer
will be able to learn things and make
decisions in a humanlike manner.
ANNs are created by programming
regular computers to behave as
though they are interconnected brain
cells.

Example: Google self-driving car,

which is trained to classically
recognize a dog, a truck, or a car.

-Tesla

Stimulus - It acts as the receiver of

information in the human brain
represented by the neural or nerve
net.

Neuron - It refers to the basic

computing units of the nervous
system.

3. Motivation/Presentation of the Topic

Show a short video about the benefits and danger of having a

strong social network.

Ask students to share their own experiences with social

networks.

4. Discussion

ESTABLISHING LINKAGES BETWEEN SELF AND THE SOCIAL

NETWORK

The demands of the digital society due to the enormous

development of technology in the 21st century, brings humanity
to embrace the online world. Today, life has been shaped by the
beeps of social networking sites. People have found ways
to be connected, updated and socially active on the internet
which became possible with the advent of the numerous social
networking platforms and apps like the following:

Facebook
• The largest and one of the most widely used social networking
sites in the world. The first that surpassed the landmark of one
(1) billion user accounts.

Messenger
 this type of social networking site is quickly becoming
the most popular way to send text-based messages,
replacing SMS and MMS as the preference of most
consumers.
Instagram
 It was launched as a unique social networking platform
that was completely based on sharing photos and
videos. Thus, this enables us to capture the best
moments of our life. Allows us to apply multiple filters
to photos and easily post them to other popular
networking sites.

Twitter
 It enables us to post short text messages (called tweets),
containing a limited number of characters (up to 280) to
convey our message to the world.

Youtube
 The world largest video-sharing social networking site
that enables users to upload and share videos, view,
comment and like.

These are only some of the popular social networking sites that
became part of our daily life. The popularity of social
networking sites continues to grow, so does the number of
users. The popularity is due to the ability of meeting the needs
and interests of a vast majority of people. Social networks
usually use as a way of socialization, like meeting other people,
sharing latest events, photos and videos to our friends and
liking and giving comments to their post. For others, they used
social platforms as a valuable tool for business and information
dissemination.

5. Activity (5 Groups)

Direction: Write down the advantage and disadvantage of using

different social media platforms/social networking sites into
yourself and what are the safety tips you could share to avoid it.

5. Analysis
Ask students to identify the Advantage and Disadvantage of their
social networks.

6. Assignment

Direction: Make a slogan that contains an advice to the youth in

using social network. (10 points)
