GUIDELINES FOR SPEAKING TEST 2: GROUP TALK SHOW

Objective: To assess students' speaking and teamwork skills while encouraging


creativity and effective communication.

Group Size: 4-6 students per group

Presentation Duration: 10-15 minutes

Preparation:

Topic Selection: Each group should select a compelling and relevant topic for their talk
show. Consider current events, social issues, or interesting themes.

Script Development: Create a script that outlines the structure and content of your talk
show. Assign roles for each member (e.g., host, expert, guest, audience member) and
ensure a clear flow of conversation.

Research: Conduct thorough research to support your discussion. Use reliable sources
and gather relevant facts, statistics, and anecdotes to enhance the quality of your talk
show.

Rehearsal: Practice your script multiple times as a group to ensure smooth transitions,
natural dialogue, and adherence to the time limit.

and clearly states the purpose of your talk show.

Engagement: Engage the audience by asking questions, inviting their opinions, or


conducting polls related to the topic.

Clear Communication: Speak clearly and at an appropriate pace. Ensure that


everyone in the group has an opportunity to speak and contribute.

Visual Aids (encouraged): If necessary, use visual aids such as slides or props to
enhance your presentation. Make sure they are relevant and not distracting.

Assessment Rubrics: Refer to Attachment

Conclusion: Wrap up the talk show with a concise summary of key points and a
memorable closing statement.

Q&A: Open the floor for questions from the audience, and be prepared to respond
confidently and knowledgeably.
