He was Born on December 18, 1856 and died on January 20, 1896.
He was an orator( a public speaker) and was among the great heroes who gave birth to
the propaganda movement to change the colonial status of the Philippines. Also, he is
an expatriate (tau dituy Philippines nga napan abroad, an emigrant) journalist who
founded the newspaper La Solidaridad in Barcelona.
La Solidaridad was advocate for religious and political reforms in the Philippines.

1.Fray Botod
Because of his affiliations with the poorest citizens of the country, he became aware of the
unjust social dilemma and corrupted religious power of the prayle during the Spanish colonial
era. That's why he created the-
Fray botod at a young age of 18. But it was published on early 1880.
This is a novel that contains the satirical work against the Spanish friars who were responsible
for the oppression(cruelty) experienced by the Filipinos for more than 300 years. The story of
Fray Botod portrayed an early Spanish priest from the colonial era of the Philippines as greedy,
corrupt, hypocrite (mapagkunwari), gluttonous(greedy), and lustful. As a form of propaganda
and protestation. His work aimed to expose these horrendous(horrible) characteristics of these
abusive priests. Fray Botod means "Big - Bellied Friar," pertaining to the nickname of the main
character in the story.

Boorn on march 23 1863 at Baliwag Bulacan and was died on May 23 1918 due to
Tuberculosis.
He also wrote about how the Filipinos were oppressed by the foreigners and of the
problems of his countrymen.
