PREFACE

As a part of curriculum and to be familiar with the real

depth and wide span of the industry every student at the F .Y
BBA is required to undergo intensive training.

"Experience is the best teacher." In every professional

course, training is an important factor, profession gives us
theoretical knowledge of various subjects in the college but they
are practically exposed of such subje cts when they get the
training in the organization. It is only the training through
which we know that an industry is and how it works.

Today's age is an age of management. Management is the

backbone of any organization or any activity done. The real
success of management lies in applying the professional
management techniques in all managerial activities. As we
move into an era of intense competition and high performance
expectations, it is important that we develop the winning edge.

Hence, to attain this objective and to have the outlook of

all intricacies of corporate world I have undertaken the Summer
Training at Rajkot Dairy Co -operative Milk Producer’s Union
Limited. I have tried my best and have applied all my efforts,
knowledge and sources available in this summer training project
report.

into finished outputs through a series of production processes . The
Production Department is responsible for making sure that raw
materials are provided and made into finished goods effectively.

INTRODUCTION
Before giving the introduction of marketing department, I
would like to give the brief introduction of ‘MARKETING” given by
various authors as follows:

“Marketing is essentially about marshalling the resources of an

organization so that they meet the changing needs of the customer on
whom the organization depends”. –
Palmer

“Marketing is the social process by which individuals and groups

obtain what they need and want through creating and exchanging
products and value with others ”.
-Phillip Kotler

If we look at this definition in more detail Marketing is a

management responsibility and should not be solely left to junior
members of staff. Marketing requires co -ordination, planning,
implementation of campaigns and a competent manager(s) with the
appropriate skills to ensure success.

The Marketing Department of Kenoor Organics has played a

great role in the success of the company as a whole. Initially the
department faced certain failures due to the lack of proper
management and co-ordination. But later on the department adopted
certain strict policies and development plans and finally the
department has got success in providin g the potential market to the
company products.

“SEGMENTATION refers to dividing a market into distinct groups

of buyers with different needs, characteristics or behavior who might

• BASES FOR SEGMENTATION:

Different business organizations are using different bases for their

market segmentation. The different bases for segmentation are as
follows:

1) Geographical Factors: (Nation, State, Region, Cities, Density,

climate)

2) Demographic Factors: (Age, Sex, Income, Family size,

Occupation, Education, Religion)

TARGETING

Once the firm has identified its market segments, it is ready to

initiate market targeting. Here, marketer evaluates each segment to
determine which one to target and enter.

TARGETING STRATEGIES:

The company can consider five pattern of target market

selection:

1) Single segment specialization: one product for one market.

2) Selective Specialization: different products will be sold in

different markets.

3) Product specialization: one product will be sold in all the

markets.

4) Market Specialization: different products will be sold in one

market.

5) Full market Coverage: all the products will be sold in all the
markets.

The KENOOR ORGANICS is using the Full Market Coverage

Strategy for targeting the market for its products.

POSITIONING

“Positioning means development of a specific marketing mix to

influence customers overall perception about brand, product or
organization in general”. Positioning is not what you do to a product
but it’s what you do to the mind of the prospect. That is you position
the product in the mind of the prospect.

POSITIONING OPTIONS:
