The Pursuit of Happyness

The Pursuit of Happyness is a 2006 biographical drama movie about Chris Gardner who
is a homeless salesman. The movie was starred by Will Smith as Chris Gardner and his son
Jaden smith as Christopher Jr. Steven Conrad's screenplay is based on Gardner's best-selling
2006 book of the same name, which he co-wrote with Quincy Troupe. Gardner sees a mural on
the wall outside the daycare center where his son attended, which inspired the unique spelling of
the film's title.
Chris Gardner is a salesman who invests his entire savings for a portable bone-density
scanners. His life was excellent when he was sure he could sell a lot of scanners until he went
bankrupt since hospitals didn't want to buy a lot of his merchandise because it wasn't a
requirement. He hasn't given up hope of selling at least one scanner, but his wife Linda, a hotel
housekeeper, has had enough of the struggle. Their kid, Christopher, stayed with his father as he
left for New York. Being a single father to his son was difficult, and they had challenges along
the way that required them to queue in order to receive free accommodation and food. Gardner
also once sell his own blood in return for money to buy a missing part for the broken scanner. He
sold the scanner to a single Doctor after repairing it. He still had time to seek for a job with the
company because his unpaid internship was still going on. Until he got an interview and was
offered a job at the company one day.
The director intended to show Chris Gardner's poverty in this film because it is a
biography of him. Another goal was to demonstrate how far parents will go to provide for their
children's basic needs; another goal may be to demonstrate how a persistent search for
opportunities to thrive in life will lead to life-changing opportunities appearing.
