Palma Street, Butuan City Contact No. Trainer Division/Unit/Department Quality Assurance Section Tasks/Activities Performed July 3, 2023 (Monday) - On this particular morning, we watched as the compression machine test broke mortar cubes. Since we had already finished our work in quality assurance, we met with Sir Jeff Matulac in the afternoon at NOA Hall to discuss the section switch from quality assurance to the construction section. July 4, 2023 (Tuesday) - We weighed the oven-dried samples for the sieve examination of the coarse and fine aggregates on this day in the morning. I worked diligently all afternoon to finish a worksheet by carefully duplicating the information from the first printed worksheet. July 5, 2023 (Wednesday) - We washed the fine and coarse aggregate samples that were obtained yesterday in the AM on this day. We washed them, then put them in an oven set at 110 degrees Celsius for more than 18 hours to dry. We tested the ability of a concrete beam to break in the afternoon. July 6, 2023 (Thursday) - We performed an activity to ascertain the unit weight/mass of coarse and fine aggregates on this day in the morning. Using a digital weighing scale, we measured the weight of the mold containing the coarse and fine aggregates and compared it to the weight when it was rodded. Additionally, as there were three layers, I tamped the fine aggregates with 25 blows in each layer. After determining the unit weight/mass, we measured 8 pieces of 10 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm, and 20 mm together with their corresponding spacing, gap, and height. We used the Universal Testing Machine to test the tensile strength of the rebars we had measured in the afternoon. We then carried on working on sieve analysis, and I was given the job. July 7, 2023 (Friday) - The other group performed a compaction test using a manual compactor or Proctor compaction test on this day in the morning, which required 25 blows. I chose to see and carry out the blows using the Proctor compaction test as my group had already finished the compaction test on day 2 using the automatic machine compactor. Due to the fact that it was our final day in the Quality Assurance division, there were no further activities in the afternoon. Sir Jeff, on the other hand, gave us a tour of the construction sector, where we would start working on Monday. Prepared by: Checked by:
