I am writing to complain about damage to my appliance due to power surge. I have lost my
television and refrigerator as a result.
On Tuesday October 7, a team of JPS workers were working in the area. After they left we
began to experience numerous power outages. At about 5:00 pm we heard a loud explosion
and saw the post on fire. The light went out shortly. I reported the matter to the emergency
unit at the Westmoreland parish office and the maintenance crew came and fixed the problem.
After they left, I tried to turn on my appliances but they would not.
I got a technician and he reported that they were burnt out. I also had a second opinion from
another technician who also gave the same diagnosis.
