DEFINITION of DERIVATIVE

ALTERNATIVE DEFINITION of DERIVATIVE

DIFFERENTIATION RULE
Rule#1 The Constant Rule
If f(x)=C, Where “C” is constant, then f’(x)=0. The derivating of a constant is equal to zero.
f(x)=C => f’(x)=0
Rule#2 The Power Rule
If f(x)=x^n, then f’(x)=nx^(n-1)

Rule#3 The Constant Multiple Rule

If f(x)=k*h(x), where “k” is constant, then f’(x)=k*h’(x)
F(x)=k*h(x) => f’(x)=k*h’(x)
Rule#4 The Derivative of a sum of a difference
f(x)=g(x)±h(x) => f’(x)=g’(x)±h’(x)
Rule#5 Product Rule
f(x)=g(x)h(x) => f’(x)=h(x)g’(x)+g(x)h’(x)
Rule#6 Quotient Rule
Rule#7 Chain Rule
