this company.

I would also like to show the highest gratitude to my supervisor for this co-operative
placement, Ms. Lim Zee Sing, for being patient and willingly to guide me throughout this 3 months
and 18 days of internship. Her teachings are indeed valuable and applicable in the Engineering industry.
Her advices, skills and proper guidance had improved my technical skills and it broadens my mind on
ways for further advancement.

I would also like to thank all of the other co-workers in the production department of
LKS (M) Sdn. Bhd, too, who had provided their guidance in aiding me as well throughout this
whole internship period.

v
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A co-operative placement is a special co-operative program between the university and

the industry. This entire report proves the 4-months period of intensive training under LKS (M)

Sdn. Bhd. After the internship, the student had been exposed with repairing skills, practical

electrical and electronic knowledge, troubleshooting methods, and some small management

skills. Example of projects provided with devices are such as Gas Analyzer panel which consist

of a gas cooler, air conditioning unit, heating hose and the gas analyzer. Other components

include PLC, relay switches, capacitors and solenoid valve. Furthermore, the student was also

exposed to basic engineering skills such as, soldering, PCB components testing, drilling,

grinding and building cables for connections. PLCs in the Gas Analyzer were given to read/write

their ladder logics, and to create new ladder diagram to test their functionalities. Other than that,

Miniature Circuit Breaker is provided the Gas Analyzer to provide a form of protection against

overload and short-circuit. Therefore, after completing the internship in LKS (M) Sdn. Bhd., the

student was exposed to a wide range of adequate experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and

electrical and electronic industry knowledge. This internship definitely aid in the student’s in the

future as these skills developed will aid him in the Mechanical Engineering course.
