Bangladesh? The population of Bangladesh is 163.08 million; assume per capita consumption of
rice to be 180 kg.
SOLUTION
The annual food requirement of Bangladesh is given by
34.56 × 106 × 5
5% loss of rice = = 1.72 million tons
