Puzzle Whiz, the Man with Rizz

Journalist Naisha profiles the Executive Board member and Rapporteur of UNHRC in AMUN

This journalist feels that Aadit Mehra is certainly a unique yet fitting rapporteur for
UNHRC. He enjoys sudokus, crossword, puzzles, kakuros and more intellectually
challenging hobbies. He aspires to study Economics and eventually pursue his masters
abroad and plays basketball as well, having participated in multiple competitions. He
had recently been participating in AMUN and taken interest in the extra curricular
which is what inspired him to become an Executive Board member.
During his first AMUN session as an executive board member, he had fun explaining
the rules and regulations, and found that he could enrich his delegates much more at
his position. He was telling them what he learnt throughout his years with his
experiences and what mistakes he made and how not to make them, showcasing the
remarkable quality of leadership.
On the other hand, some of his favorite shows and movies are Chota Bheem, Bojack
Horseman, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, and The Godfather trilogy. An idol who he looks
up to tremendously is Pope Francis. “He has great fashion sense.” According to him,
MUN is not just about winning awards or accolades, but about the friends and
relationships which are made, seeing countless new faces all across different schools
and being social.
In his opinion, making the environment in AMUN more fun is an important addition,
and how it’s both an extracurricular yet an intellectually stimulating game. He talks
about how it should directed towards being creative and delegates trying to tackle
issues in the real-world using creativity and humor at the same time, making the
whole process more interesting and engaging for them.
One of his most memorable moments was in 10th grade when he was in the Ad Hoc
Indian Crisis Committee, where their agenda was related to Kashmir in which
terrorists were involved where they asked questions, cutting off a finger each time.
“Kidnappings and torture are an integral part of AMUN committees” as said by him.
His advice to the new delegates: “Be creative. MUN is literally a game. That is how it
evolved. You can do whatever in MUN- take whatever action you like, and wait to see
how the consequences play out. You don’t even need to be necessarily good at
debating to excel in MUN, but just be creative.”
