Job Description
The Enterprise DevOps (EDO) department of WorkSafeBC is a team that brings together Innovation &Technology. We have a
large group of technology leaders and professionals that work in areas representing software development, infrastructure,
environments, databases, delivery, and operations. Working on our team is a unique opportunity to do work that matters. We
provide a highly collaborative environment where co-op students can learn, contribute and develop their skills while working on
innovative projects that help make a difference to the workers and employers of B.C.

The User Experience Designer co-op student will support the UX Designer in the development of a Lean UX practice and will work
closely with a team of technical, business and design stakeholders to help influence the developing UX/UI culture in Enterprise
DevOps team. This position fully participates in activities that support delivery and continuous improvement through assisting other
roles with their work and promoting respectful and collaboratively culture.

This is an eight-month full-time student position starting September 2022. WorkSafeBC has adopted a hybrid model offering
opportunities to work remotely within BC and onsite based on the operational needs of the position. Must reside within BC for the
duration of the co-op position.

As a User Experience Designer co-op student, you will:


• Work in an agile environment that supports Lean UX principles
• Participate in design and planning sessions
• Gather design and user requirements through collaboration with the project team(s)
• Generate wireframes, interactive prototypes and visual designs quickly and reliably
• Support the UX Lead in developing a repository of design patterns and new design system to be used by all DevOps
stakeholders
• Support the UX Lead in maintaining a style guides and alignment with WorkSafeBC branding
• Collaborate with Enterprise DevOps, business, communications and marketing team
• Participate in development of web and mobile products

Job Requirements
We're looking for someone who can:
• Apply a design thinking and user-centric mindset
•Demonstrate comfortability with inherent uncertainty in early-stage products/innovations and enjoy rapid development cycles
•Demonstrate understanding of responsive design concepts
•Demonstrate self-motivation and eagerness to learn new trends, tools and technologies
•Actively collaborate and welcomes feedback
Your experience and educational background:
• Currently enrolled in a program such as web design, Human-computer interaction, interactive design, graphic design or related
field
•Proficiency with prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
•Proficiency with Adobe design suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other creative tools
•Experience with usability testing and/or user research would be an asset
