1.0 General:
It is important to use the correct color for all safety sign and warning sign to be used
within the working area to ensure the standard and consistency that could avoid
accidents.
2.0 Standard Color Code for Safety Sign:

The color code for safety signs are as follows:

3.0 Pattern of safety sign and color:
3.1 General Standard Safety Sign and Color
The pattern of safety sign and color can be divided into 4 categories according to meaning
as follows:
1) Prohibit Sign

5) Other type of Safety Sign / Warning Sign
In case, it is not possible to have the suitable sign / color matching with the meaning
required, the general safety sign including with the supportive sign can be used as follow:
a) The supportive sign must be square or rectangular
b) The background must have same color as safety color and wording color must be
same as mentioned in the above table. Or background can be in white and wording
in black.
c) Use normal font with no shadow
d) The width of the font should not be less than 70% of the font height

4.0 Standard Instruction
1) Site Safety Officer should identify the need of the safety sign, warning sign in the
working area and at the equipment and machinery in use as required.
2) The specification of all safety sign and warning signs such as color, size etc. must be
in line with standard specification as mentioned above. And also, all safety signs and
warning signs must be provided with the sentences in the language of which all
workers are familiar.
3) Site Safety Officer must provide safety sign / warning signs at office, working area
and equipment as necessary. And also, during Safety Walk, Safety Committee
member / safety officer should check that all safety signs / warning signs are in the
office, working area and equipment as specified. If it is missing or required more,
should report to relevant Project manager / Safety Officer.
