HAWKSBILL TURTLE

WHAT IS IT?
The Hawksbill turtle lives in the ocean. Hawksbill
turtle can be 30 inches to 35 inches and can
weigh 90 pounds to 150 pounds. It's one of the
smallest species of marine turtles in the world. It
eat corals and crustaceans such as sea urchins,
small fish and jellyfish.

WHAT'S THE
PROBLEM?

The Hawksbill Turtle is now in danger. It is


very rare and the population is fewer than
8000. It is threatened by the loss of nesting
and foraging habitat.

HOW CAN WE HELP?


There are several ways to protect Hawksbill
Turtle, such as protecting its habitat and
designating critical habitat, reducing bycatch,
disentanglement, rehabilitation and eliminating
the killing of turtles and the collection of their
eggs.
