FORMS OF ART

It is through art that we can communicate to the world our inner feelings and our
creativity that only exists within our mind. Art has many forms; from visual arts to

performing arts. Many great civilizations and cultures are perceived to be great because
they were advanced in the arts. The strength and culture of an entire nation or civilization
rests upon how rich the art of that particular country or civilization is.

VISUAL ARTS

The visual arts are those works created primarily for visual perception. They are different

from auditory arts which basic medium is vocal or instrumental sound. These art forms are
extremely diverse, from the artwork that hangs on your wall to the movie you watched last
night.

The visual arts include mediums such

as drawing, painting, sculpture, architecture,

photography, film, and printmaking. Many of

these pieces of art are created to stimulate us
through a visual experience. When we look at

them, they often provoke a feeling of some

sort.

Within the visual arts is a category

known as the decorative arts, or craft. This is

art that is more utilitarian and has a function In printmaking lingo, tirada means "to strike" or "to pull off or to

Artists who participate in performing arts in front of an audience are called performers.
Examples of these include actors, comedians, dancers, magicians, circus artists, musicians, and
singers. Performing arts are also supported by workers in related fields, such as songwriting,
choreography and stagecraft. A performer who excels in acting, singing, and dancing is commonly
referred to as a triple threat.

Performers often adapt their appearance, such as with costumes and stage makeup, stage
lighting, and sound.
