A Performance Management System is a mechanism for tracking the performance of

employees consistently and measurably. It allows the company to ensure that employees and

departments across the organization are working effectively towards achieving the business’

strategic goals.

Insights:

There are ten (10) key factors of an Effective Performance Management System as

follows: Congruence with strategy and context; Thoroughness and Inclusiveness;

Meaningfulness; Practicality; Reliability, validity and specificity; Identification of effective and

ineffective performance; Standardization; Openness; Correctability; and Acceptability.
