Posture: Bridge

Bridge posture is similar to lying down on the bed, but it allows my body to stretch
harder and exercise my muscles, joints, and limbs more. Especially I like the feeling of
the front of my body being lengthened (haha), heartbeats get clearer, the stomach
works noticeably, and my thighs are able to stretch to its limits. This is a posture I
think being extreme comfortable and pretty challenging. The comfort comes from
trying to making our legs longer, which is relaxing because I walk quite fast in the day
without having the time to relieve the stress in the muscles. The challenge comes
from the energy from my upper back and how to keep my necks in a safe but right
position. Overall, I think I have not yet conquered and realized the essence of the
“bridge” posture, but it surely lessens the stress and ties in my body.

Posture: Caterpillar
Pre-rating: 8

This is a posture I often do for years, and it wasn’t until now that I know it is a part of
the Yin yoga. I treat this “caterpillar” posture more of a warm-up exercise and
relaxation posture rather than a yoga, because whenever I do this posture, it gives
me energy. I like to see my arms stretching and I can touch my feet with my hands.
My spine also stretches, which is really important and relaxing to people like me who
sits on the chair using the computer for hours a day. I also close my eyes whenever I
do this caterpillar posture, because when my limbs and spine are fully stretched, it is
a position of comfort and a sign telling me to take a rest for a while. Some memories
and words emerge when I close my eyes trying to bent down a bit lower to let my
chest gets closer the ground. Overall, this is a posture I like a lot.
