Many argue that advertisement is not a requirement for people to buy product that is a necessity.

I
completely disagree with this notion since advertising is a key part of modern business and creates
demand for products.

Firstly, advertising is the most direct way to inform customers about the product’s existence. There are
different types of advertisements such as ads in newspapers, radios, televisions, and billboard signs
where people learn about the goods and peak their interests into possibly buying one. Some companies
even hire famous celebrities to endorse their products. For example, an advertisement from a soft drink
company named Pepsi featured world-class artists Beyonce, Britney Spears and Pink, to attract a lot of
individuals with their brand. This gives people the notion that since popular personalities use or
consume certain products, they will purchase that product for their own consumption as well.

Secondly, the society nowadays, live in a consumer culture where people are persuaded from
advertisements to follow the latest trend. Many are encouraged to associate certain brands with a
higher status. This can be seen in Apple products where advertising comes in a major play. Apple phones
and computers are famed not only for their quality but also the sense of being part of a community of
users. Now the desire to become part of the Apple community and appear cool has become a basic need
for many users hooked into the Apple ecosystem of high-quality consumer electronics.

In conclusion, advertising serves an important role in society. This does not mean that it should not be
regulated, simply that consumers and officials should be mindful of the full contribution of advertisers.
