INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION

Structures are units and sets of elements designed to withstand external loads and their
own weight without deforming beyond their requirements. Construction is an activity to build
facilities and infrastructure. In the field of architecture or civil engineering, a structure is also
referred to as a building or an infrastructure unit in one or more fields. In short, a building is
defined as the subject of the whole building, which consists of load-bearing parts. For example,
building construction is the overall shape/layout of the building structure.
Construction activities are usually supervised by the project manager, designer, or
project architect. Although these people work in offices, site supervision is usually left to oversee
projects overseeing builders, carpenters, and other construction workers to physically complete
construction. Integration plans are usually carried out during construction. This is related to how
to determine the required costs, planning and construction.
Proper planning Planning includes financing, environmental impact, availability of
personal protective equipment, availability of construction materials, logistics, public
inconvenience related to construction work delays, preparation of documents and bids, etc.
Determine the success of your development from the perspective. Effective planning is critical to
the success of a construction project. This refers to infrastructure design (design and
implementation) that takes into account environmental impacts/AMDAL, cost/budget
requirements, proper planning, work environment safety, and building availability. Public
inconvenience related to materials, logistics, bidding and delays in bid preparation, etc.
Industry 4.0 as a phase of the technological revolution changes the way human activities
are carried out in scale, scale, complexity, and transformation from previous life experiences. As
humans live in global uncertainty, they must have the ability to predict a future that is changing
very fast. All countries must respond to these changes in an integrated and comprehensive
manner. This response engages all global policy makers, including public institutions, the private
sector, academia, and civil society, to turn Industry 4.0 challenges into opportunities. Advances
in technology will enable automation in almost every field. New technologies and approaches
that combine the physical, digital, and biological worlds will radically change the pattern of
human life and interaction (Tjandrawinata, 2016).
In facing Industry 4.0, the construction sector needs to be improved, and the business
processes of the construction industry need to be modified to increase efficiency, reduce
production costs, and improve production processes. The construction industry needs to use
information technology. For example, you can quickly and accurately obtain information about
materials and equipment found in an area.
In addition to the preparation of information technology, it is also necessary to
strengthen the administrative management of various departments, especially the departments
that support development, so that the administrative management period does not become too
long. The e-procurement process that has been carried out so far needs to be maintained and
improved optically for user access. The role of human resources must be better prepared in the
face of an increasingly sophisticated and growing digital era. Industry 4.0 is an era of
digitalization, where competition for innovation and expertise is needed.
For this reason, it is necessary to strengthen human resource development in the formal
and non-formal sectors. There is also a need for enthusiasm for the individuals concerned to
constantly self-grade both soft skills and hard skills so that they can produce breakthroughs that
are creative, innovative, and responsive to change. Industry 4.0 will bring many changes to
human life. Industry 4.0 has radically changed the way humans carry out their activities and has
a major impact on the world of work. The positive impact of Industry 4.0 on the effectiveness
and efficiency of resources and production costs, but has an impact on reducing employment.
Industry 4.0 requires workers with digital literacy, technical literacy, and human literacy skills.
The Industrial Revolution 4.0 provides many opportunities for the construction sector to innovate
both product innovation and tools and methods.
A competitive industry is also created to create competition between construction
companies, reduce production costs, and provide clear benefits for the owner/owner of the
activity. To use this technology, construction industry players must constantly update existing
equipment and systems to make them assets and technology investments that they can develop in
the future.
