MAIN BRANCHES OF EARTH SCIENCE

1. GEOLOGY
 Geology is the scientific study of the earth- the material of which it is made, the
processes that act on these materials, the products formed, and the history of the planet
and its life forms since origin. Geology now includes the study of other planets as well. It
is also a science that deals with the dynamics and physical history of the earth, the rocks
of which it is composed, and the physical, chemical, and biological changes that the
earth has undergone or is undergoing

2. METEOROLOGY
 Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere, atmospheric phenomena, and atmospheric
effects on our weather and how processes in the atmosphere determine Earth's weather
and climate the weather.

3. OCEANOGRAPHY
 Oceanography is also known as oceanology and ocean science, is the scientific study of
the oceans. It is an important Earth science, which covers a wide range of topics,
including ecosystem dynamics; ocean currents, waves, and geophysical fluid dynamics;
plate tectonics and the geology of the sea floor; and fluxes of various chemical
substances and physical properties within the ocean and across its boundaries.

4. ASTRONOMY
 Astronomy is the study of everything in the universe beyond Earth’s atmosphere. That
includes objects we can see with our naked eyes, like the Sun , the Moon , the planets,
and the stars . It also includes objects we can only see with telescopes or other
instruments, like faraway galaxies and tiny particles. And it even includes questions
about things we can't see at all, like dark matter and dark energy. It also uses
mathematics, physics, and chemistry in order to explain their origin and evolution.
Objects of interest include planets, moons, stars, nebulae, galaxies, and comets
