Earth sciences are the fields of study concerned with the

solid Earth, its waters, and the air that envelops it. They include

the geologic, hydrologic, and atmospheric sciences with the broad

aim of understanding Earth's present features and past evolution

and using this knowledge to benefit humankind.

During our discussion I have learned a lot about the

universe, solar system, and the characteristics of the 8 planets. I

learned everything about the geology (study of earth’s surface).

There are two main fields of geology: (1) physical geology and

(2) historical geology. Physical geology is the study of the solid

Earth and the processes that change the physical landscape of

the planet. Historical geology is the vastness of geologic time,

measured in billions of years, and investigates changes in the

earth.
Also I learned about the meteorology (study of atmospheric

phenomenal). There are two major branches of meteorology: (1)

synoptic meteorology and (2) dynamic meteorology. The

synoptic meteorology those meteorologists who uses

simultaneous weather reports to analyze the present state of the

atmosphere and predicts its future. The dynamic meteorology

those meteorologists who uses mathematical equations to

describe the motions of the atmosphere.

I was interested in the branches of astronomy because I love

topics about the universe most specially about stars and galaxies.

There are two type of astronomy: (1) the observational

astronomy and (2) the theoretical astronomy. The

observational astronomy uses telescopes and cameras to

collect data about the night sky. The theoretical astronomy used

that data to analyze, model and theorize about how objects and

phenomena work.
Earth science is very important subject and it is an exciting

subject to learn. We are having fun while learning. I am very much

satisfied in every topic that we discussed. I am expecting also to

learn more about the subject.
