Udayan Das is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, St. Xavier’s
College (Autonomous), Kolkata. He is presently pursuing his PhD at the Department of
International Relations, Jadavpur University. Previously he has completed his BA and MA
from the same department. He was awarded the James Roach Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in
International Relations in October 2019 by Osmania University Centre for International
Programmes, Hyderabad. He is also an Associate Fellow (Honorary) at the Kalinga Institute
for Indo-Pacific Studies. Formerly, he has been a Visiting Faculty at Amity Law School,
Amity University (Kolkata) and Scottish Church College (University of Calcutta). He was
associated with the Netaji Institute for Asian Studies as a Research Assistant and as an Oral
History Apprentice with The 1947 Partition Archive. His research interests include security
studies, India’s foreign policy, maritime affairs along with political and strategic issues
pertaining to the subcontinent.
