Direct Speech is saying or writing the exact words of a
speaker, the actual words go between ‘opening’ and ‘closing’
quotation marks. Example: Mark said, “I love snorkelling.”
Indirect Speech is reporting or writing what a speaker says
without using the exact words. Example: Mark said that he
loved snorkelling.
