The crochet mini check plaid stitch pattern is one of the more colorful stitches. Use
it for a baby blanket, shawl, scarf, and more. Check out the how-to video on the

Terminology:
CH = Chain DC = Double Crochet RPT = Repeat
SC = Single Crochet SLST = Slip Stitch ST = Stitch

“Crochet Mini Check Plaid Stitch.”

With Color A, CH 36 or any multiple of 6. NOTE: Carry colors up and along sides as
you work.

ROW 1: DC in 5th CH from hook. DC in next CH. RPT [CH 3. Skip 3 CHs. DC in next 3
CHs] across. Change to Color B before completing last ST. CH 4 (counts as a CH 1
and a CH 3), turn.

ROW 2: Working into the skipped CHs from the starting CH, DC in each of the 3
CHs. RPT [CH 3. Working into the skipped chains, DC in each of the 3 CHs] across. At
the end, CH 3. With Color C, SLST into last ST. CH 3, turn.

ROW 3: (Turning CH-3 counts as first DC). DC in next 2 STs. RPT [CH 3. Working into
the skipped STs, DC in each of the 3 STs] across. Change to Color A before
completing last ST. CH 4, turn.

ROW 4: Working into the skipped CHs, DC in each of the 3 STs. [CH 3. Working into
the skipped chains, DC in each of the 3 STs] across. At the end, CH 3. With Color B,
SLST into last ST. CH 3, turn.

RPT ROWs 3 and 4, changing colors after every row, continuing with the order of A,
B, C.

LAST ROW, which is a modified ROW 3:


(Previous ROW will have a CH 3, turn). DC in next 2 STs. RPT [SC in next 3 STs.
Working into the skipped STs, DC in each of the 3 STs] across. Fasten off, weave in
ends.
