Introduction:

The escalating water crisis in Metro Manila has drawn attention to a dam that is slated
to be constructed in the Sierra Madre jungles. The Dumagat Remontado are an
indigenous group who live in a settlement along the banks of the Kaliwa River, deep
within a beautiful forest. Their ancestral lands will be flooded, along with their homes,
farms, holy places, and hopes and dreams, when the Kaliwa Dam Project is built.

Conclusion/Insight:

In the Sandra Aguinaldo Documentary, it was mentioned that there was a shortage in
Metro Manila and that a DAM project was being carried out in the Hidden Forest of
Sierra Madre. In the vicinity of this project, many people will lose their homes, and many
more will lose their jobs. The lesson I took away from this is that Metro Manila residents
must quit wasting water and avoid leaving their faucets open. Our natural state will be
harmed by this project.
