Explanation

The help of a stone barrier and flood defense wall could lessen the
brutality of the waves headed through the city as the water that is pushed
through the bay is caused by the heavy wind caused by the typhoon. These
man-made structures could save a lot of lives as they prevent casualties
and create a more bearable environment.
1. Hazard mapping is very crucial in identifying natural disasters
and threats in a community. In our current day and age, how
important do you think is this device/instrument?

> Since a map hazard is not as prominent as

getting alerts (Which only updates you if the
happening has started), the culture emphasizing
the importance of safety in their communities.
Giving attention to this great planning go lead to
others forming ideas on how they can avoid tragic
danger and help the community ahead of tragedy.
2. Does your barangay or municipality have hazard maps? If yes,
how well do people know about it? If not, why do you think these
developments are not being prioritized?

> Barangay officials have an important role in the

community as they are the people who enable the
citizens to action in crucial moments such as
emergencies. Sadly in our community, small
government officials have no coordination with
their people and fail to give important
announcements when weather calamity is
involved.
3. In comparison to the earlier years/decades, how do you think
our ancestors predict or identify possible disasters in their
community? Do you think technology today helps more in savings
lives than before? Why?

> The history of alerting people towards natural

disasters, weather, or wars is a difficult and complex
action as they aren't able to communicate to the
people easily and learning that our ancestors are
heavily religious some of them may have depended
their lives on their faith. Today we have devices right
in our pockets that can receive messages in seconds,
it is only up to the people themselves if they are
cautious of what's happening around them.
