AME's Impactful Outreach: Supporting IYVF Children's Home

Shreyas Vadrewu

In the concluding week of July, the Association of Mechatronics Engineers (AME) undertook a
philanthropic endeavour that yielded substantial results. The association orchestrated a donation
campaign to gather essential items for the IYVF Children’s Home located in Urapakkam.
AME, a student-led professional society, is dedicated to advancing the realm of mechatronics through
education, research and innovation. At the helm of the AME is Dr. Sivananthan K, the Convenor, Ms.
Gayatri Kothuri, the President and Vineth Joseph M, the Social Service Head. The objectives of the
donation drive encompassed several facets, including the collection and distribution of clothing,
notebooks, and essential items to the orphanage, as well as raising funds for the acquisition of a water
tank and filtration system.
The donation initiative took place from July 24th to the 28th, with the final contributions being
meticulously audited and subsequently delivered to the orphanage on the 31st. The event garnered
enthusiastic participation throughout the department, as evidenced by the engagement of 51 registered
donors who generously contributed donations exceeding thirty thousand rupees. Alongside the
fundraising efforts, the AME, together with its contributors, amassed notebooks, stationery, clothing,
and essential water purifiers, along with the designated water tank.
Subsequent to this endeavour, the organizing committee published a list of Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) and convened a meeting to express gratitude to its members for their pivotal roles in
achieving the event's success. The AME drive serves as an example for all student bodies to actively
participate in CSR initiatives and give back to society.
