Prompt :

I think that this quote uses the word “thing” too many times, but it
is also true. I also want it to say that it can also do bad things,
not just the good, though bad things can sometimes be beautiful I
suppose like in Rise of the Guardians when the . I do like that it
does not limit what kind of art form is being used.

Activity : Name Point

Leader : Miss Grace
Description : First round, you shout the name, stick your arm out and
make eye contact with the person whose place you are trying to take,
and by the time you get there the person has to have done that to
someone else until the leader calls for a stop. Second round, you
weren’t allowed to call out the person's name. And finally in the
third round you don't have to do anything but make eye contact.

What i learned : I learned that as a class we were better at

communicating silently on the second round than we the first round.
We are generally an introverted class. The final round wasn't the
smoothest but it was better than the third. I don't know the new
guy's name so I didn't call him at all. I feel bad for doing that.

Questions Answers

What do we want to be I don't know about the rest of the class but
as an ensemble or i want us to look like a found family, but
community ? i'm not sure if that's being unrealistic and
sprouting from the books that i read. Fuck
that's so cringy i’ll come up with something
else.

What do we want it to As i said i want us to be a found family, so

look, feel, and sound close knit group of classmates. I want to
like in our feel that I can trust these people to have
classroom? How can we my back and they have theirs and I want
make sure everyone there to be the sound of laughter, but the
feels included? laugh is not harmful directed at someone.

What actions, I think that Miss Grace is onto something

behaviors, and/or with all of the reflections. It doesn't
habits of mind will necessarily have to be about all of the bad
allow us to achieve stuff someone might’ve done but also about
excellence? the good times. When I'm laughing with a
friend it can sometimes be about something
funny that we did and that in itself is
reflecting.

What does excellence I think excellence is when we will be able

look like in a to put something coherent together and be
theater classroom? As able to influence other people into being
an individual? As an better people I suppose. Individually I
ensemble? think that excellence will be when I am able
to do my work on time.

Warm up leader : Miss Grace
Description : we have two different small stuffed animals and in the
first round we had to toss one to a person and say their name out
loud. That stuffed animal was assigned to that person you passed to
each time. The next one would be under a different category and we’d
have to say a word relating to it. Then we’d practice both at the
same time. Then in reverse too.

I'm not sure what he is trying to say in this case but I feel like
this is where Andy Warhol got his “everyone has his 15 minutes of
fame” ideology from.

Warm up leader : Moss
Description : making a circle and then going round clockwise making a
noise that the person made before you.
This activity was meant to build up the class's reflexes, but it was
also somehow community building because we all got to laugh when we
each said meow.

Prompt : strength / challenge as a researcher? How do you set

yourself up for success as you approach your first task?

Strength : A strength that I have as a researcher is the organization

of my documents. I create a table to organize the information I have
gathered under a topic question and then beside it is a column for
the source.

Challenge : a challenge that i have as a researcher is the motivation

and citing the sources. The citations are just a really tedious thing
to do and the research can sometimes be hard.

Set - Up : My setup will be as normal, the table with questions,

information and sources. I think the best way to help me will be to
listen to music as it puts me in a good mood without distracting me,
but I do not have that available to me.

Description : a PAIR of people go in turns counting from 1 to 3
This is so hard wtf my partner was Hyunjae and so he tried to
memorize his numbers by counting 1 3 2 and me learning the other
number in the order of 2 1 3. This shit is hard

Promt : Why is it important to learn the context of something before

we delve into the content itself?

Content can justify the actions that someone might have made. For
example if someone were to hit someone else, that would've been
considered “wrong” but if it were to be out of self defense then it
would've been justified.

Name : One Word Story
Description : we went around in a circle saying one word at a time to
compose a story. The first round wasn't very good, because everyone
was mumbling and it wasn't coherent. Not saying that the second one
where we wrote it down is coherent but it was received better. I
learned that from this is that at the start a lot of people were
thinking in the same vein as the sentence, but eventually, on the
second round we started branching out like avioli.

Description : everyone forms a circle and then we all look down,
then when toll too we are told to look up, and look at someone. If
you make eye contact you die.

Prompt : how do you feel when you know you have to present or perform
to an audience?

When I feel good and am about to present or perform to an audience, I

start to feel like I'm going to throw up and shit myself at the same
time. I know that this sounds weird but it is such a good feeling
because even though I feel like I'm about to explode from both ends,
I'm going to smile through all of it. That's how I'll know that it's
going to be good.

Name : Musical Toss
Description : linh would put on a song, and we’d all toss Meow Meow
around and whenever the music stopped, the person who just threw Meow
Meow or caught Meow Meow was out. Basically like musical chairs.

Learnt : Honestly it just takes one energetic person to lighten the

whole class and I think that I did that. I feel dead today and my
work is not done. I wrote about stuff today and I feel like shit, but
I became that energetic person. We’re all tired.

Prompt : what do you know about the play, Titus Andronicus?
Honestly, not much. Going into this play completely blind, although I
do know that there is human pie in the play, and on that basis the
whole class chose to do it. :DDD

Name : The Debate game
Description : we were given a series of prompts to debate about. We
took sides and then we had 5 minutes to throw points at each other
and at the end asked to see if anyone wanted to switch sides. No one
ever did.

Learnt : that our class likes apple phones better than android, and
that android was probably better but apple just looks better.

Prompt : Which Production element (costume, lighting, props, set and

sound) is impacting you most so far? Why?
I think that so far the set is the most impacting and most foremost
because there is a halfway behind and that's where they killed one of
Tamara's sons and even though it wasn't one of the scenes outside you
could still see it and see the effect on the stage outside, and the
gats did a good job displaying power at the beginning of the play
with all of the dancers flipping off and climbing on the gates.

Name : Fun Stanislavsky
Description : We have prompts to make us create a short play. The
prompts were to inspire and to criticize. Me, linh, pauline, and bao
were put in the team to criticize. We did a think on Pauline being
homeless and bao giving her change, but then rich linh came up and
criticized them and then finally I, an ex homeless guy, pushed linh
to give the message to stop homeless hate.

Prompt : Reflect on what you know about performing shakespeare? What

do you know? What do you want to know?

I remember last year that we did a small monologue from one of

Shakespeare's plays. I know that the text wasn't meant to be read and
so that puts a lot of emphasis on the acting part. I want to know
just why in general is he so important?

Prompt : reflect on your experience with the workshops with the

performance exchange and BYTE.

I was only present for the one yesterday. This workshop was mainly
focused on voice, I think. The guy leading the workshop was a grouch
if i'm being honest but a very interesting grouch id say. He's the
kind of person who you’d just have to accept is a grouch and get with
him anyway.

to be and maybe sometimes what we are but we can't predict anything,
the thought of alternate or parallel universes

My key theme is that livinia is the only one who carries the sword
and all of the men carry guns. This is symbolism for the fact that
women already have an unfair advantage. This is going off of the
anecdote : never bring a sword to a gunfight.

I didn't like this one very much because it made me feel like i was

I love this sentence. It is orgasmic and I really really love it
because I understand. I understand nothing will ever be done or ever
to its absolute fullest potential and we can make do with what we
have and AH i love it. I think that this needs to be applied to the
holiday carole because i think that we have abandoned it and it could
be so so so much better than it is like the addams family we had such
a long time and for this we don't and the addams family was so much
better and i wish we could do it again D:

You need three things in theater, the play, the actors and the
audience.

I want to reflect on what the audience brings because it's

intangible. When you're going through rehearsal you don't notice
that something is missing but when you're performing you notice
something NEW is there. You don't notice when it's missing but you
can tell when it's there, sort of thing ykyk?????? I love it. I love
the audience. I love bringing that energy there to the stage. It's
immaculate, it's irreplaceable and I am head over heels in love with
it.

This is obviously coming from a mentally stable person. I can only
love myself through the art that I consume and until I love myself
I'm afraid that the only way that I can love myself is seeing myself
represented in art and the art that I create.

I think a teacher is supposed to guide a student into coming to their
own conclusion. They are their own ending mark while a director is
trying to guide them into seeing the ending mark that the director
wants.

I think that this is very true and I think that sometimes the way
that society is structured quack. Pooopty to flow because let's be
real it does take time to let creativity flow and in a capitalist
centric society that time would be seen as more valuable to be used
for making money / working. Admittedly sometimes it isn't the
capitalist regime that is at fault, sometimes it is just the fact
that the person has an art block. Then it would take even more time
that the person doesn't have and would also be more considered wise
to be working then.

While you weren’t here the other day, I think that you inspired my
directing the most because throughout my directing rehearsal I was
thinking “what would miss grace do?” because you are basically the
only director that I can remember working with.
