LAUNDRY SOAP

RAW MATERIALS
 Coconut oil – 550 gram
 Caustic soda – 100 gram
 Water – 280 ml
 Sodium silicate – 50 gram
 Perfume – few drops
 Colour – few drops (Mixed in a little coconut oil)

EQUIPMENT
 Vessels
 Soap cutter
 Soap stamping machine
 Wooden box
 Cooker
 Baumé hydrometer

METHOD
1. Mix the caustic soda and water. When mixed together the temperature of the mixture
will rise.
2. Allow the mixture to col.
3. Heat the coconut oil to 55 to 60oC.
4. Gradually add the caustic soda solution to the heated coconut oil.
5. Mix well.
6. When the mixture attains whitish colour and becomes thick, add the sodium silicate,
colour and perfume.
7. Pour the mixture into wooden box lined with polythene and stand for 24 hours.
8. Cut the soap to the required size using the soap cutter.
9. Stamp the soap with the brand name/trade mark in the soap stamping machine and
wrap.
