For this activity, you will need to refer to your research, any knowledge you already have, and your own imagination
(based on evidence). Everyone in the team must fill out this table on their own laptops but work together as a group to
complete the sheet.

Problem:
What is the main problem you have identified after conducting your research? Which problem was present in the
articles you have engaged with, that you think your group might like to research?

● The main problem we identified after conducting research is how people get stranded on islands during the
floods. These people couldn’t get away because the rough and raging waters were too rough to swim in and get
to somewhere else safe. We want to research this closely because we want to design a boat that allows these
stranded people find their way out of islands during floods.

more than a year's worth
of rainfall.
● Many farmers, families,
and school children were

● These people experienced not having
food and clean water to drink for long
periods of time.
● Some people even suffered death.
● I imagine that these people would be
heartbroken because they would have
to lose more than their families. They
would lose their homes, pets and their
own lives.

plans – we need to make flood
plans just like we do with
