Ladies and gentlemen,

Today, I stand before you to shed light on India's remarkable progress in the education sector. India,
a nation known for its rich heritage and cultural diversity, has made significant strides in shaping the
minds of its people through the years.

Let us first journey back to the ancient teaching-learning model known as Gurukul. In this kind of
system, students lived with their gurus and gained knowledge through close mentorship. This type of
teaching entrenched a Concussion on the student's intellect with close effect thus making the
student coherent about his Subjects and ready for a real-life situation.

As we go forward to the colonial era when the British introduced a structured schooling system.
Their contribution laid the foundation for modernizing education in our country. We must express
our gratitude to the British for introducing us to this kind of System and paving the way for our
future endeavors.

India has been blessed with great thinkers and visionaries who challenged the cause of education
across society. Figures like Sister Nivedita, Tagore, Gandhi, Vivekananda, and Savitribai Phule
endeavored tirelessly to make education accessible to all, irrespective of gender, caste, or
background.

The Gandhian model of education emphasized the importance of practical skills, character-building,
and vocational training. Mahatma Gandhi believed in education that empowered individuals to
contribute meaningfully to society and live a life of independence and self-dignity.

In recognition of the fundamental right to education, India established Article 21A in its constitution.
The Right to Education (RTE) Act has played a vital role in ensuring free and compulsory education
for children aged 6 to 14, making education a fundamental right for every Indian child.

Today, India has a vast network of schools, colleges, and universities along with prestigious
institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
These institutions have nurtured some of the brightest minds, not only for India but for the world.

In recent years, India has made its fame as an international destination for higher education among
international students. Its world-class universities, research facilities, and diverse academic
programs attract students from around the globe, fostering cross-cultural learning and collaboration.

Moreover, as we celebrate the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav or the Festival of Freedom, India is
reaffirming its commitment to education. This initiative commemorates 75 years of independence
and encourages a renewed focus on education, innovation, and skill development, envisioning a
future where every individual can unleash their potential.
In conclusion, India's progress in the education sector has been nothing short. From ancient
Gurukuls to the present-day institutions of excellence, we have embraced change, productivity, and
the pursuit of knowledge. As we continue our journey, let us remember that education is the key to
unlocking India's true potential and shaping a brighter, more enlightened future for all.

Thank you.
