Tandang Sora is known as the “Mother of the Revolution”. Her real name was Melchora Aquino. Tandang Sora was quite
old when the revolution broke out in 1896. How sad she was when she saw how poor the people were. She promised herself to help
the poor folks. Whenever a Katipunero was wounded, she nursed him in her little hut in the hills of Banilad. She also supplied the
Katipuneros with food. She solicited medicine and supplies and secretly gave them to the Katipuneros.
