• Affixes are words elements added to a root word that changes the meaning of the
root word. There are affixes added at the beginning of the word. There are also
affixes added at the end of the word.
• The words “un” and “less” are affixes. They have meanings.
• The affix “un” – means not or opposite of

Some had large blooms, and some were so small they seemed microscopic and some
plants were flowerless! Ellie’s mother reminded her that they could choose a different
flower next season. Ellie settles on daisies and was very happy with her garden.

• Affixes are words elements added to a root word that changes the meaning of the
root word. There are affixes added at the beginning of the word. They are called

EVALUATION
Read the paragraph then copy the words with affixes and identify their meanings.

It is unsafe to go out these days due to CORONA virus. People were advised to
stay home and wear mask. But some careless people were unafraid and continue in
doing their usual activities. It is unfair for the front liners who risk their lives for the
safety of the people. It is unwise not to follow the rules and regulations being
implemented by the authorities. So, stop being a merciless person.
