The “Four Quadrant” Weekly Review Template

Before you start: Make a copy

1. Time and task audit


“Did your actions last week match up to your priorities?”

● Did you complete what you set out to do?


● Does your calendar match up with your priorities and values?
● What was your allocation of busywork vs. “$10,000/hour work”?

2. Planning and prioritization


“What loose ends need to be tied up? Where should your time be allocated next week?”

● Email
○ Clear out inbox. Move all tasks and follow-ups to next week’s list.
● Calendar
○ Review your meeting schedule for next week. Schedule blocks for important
work.
○ Review the last 2 weeks of meetings. Add any follow-ups to next week’s list.
● Desktop
○ Clear out your desktop
○ Clear out your downloads folder
○ Clear off your physical desk
● Notes
○ Review notes apps and move any action items to next week’s list
○ Review paper notes and move any action items to next week’s list
● Tasks
○ Review your to-do list. Move any unfinished tasks to next weeks and prioritize.
○ Delete or delegate any tasks that have been on your list for more than 2 weeks.

3. Journaling
“Step back from the chaos and think through why you’re spending your time how you are.”

● What went well last week?


● Where did you get stuck and need help?
● What did you learn?

4. Vision
“Are you still on track with your life/business/work goals?”

● What are your long-term goals? Do they still feel relevant?


● What would make next week a great week for you?
