REGISTRATION a. When and where to register


Registrations should be made at the secretariat on the day of the meeting, before the opening
of the session.

Upon registration, participants will receive a bilingual kit that will contain:
 Concept Note;
 Program;
 All other useful documents.

TRANSPORTATION

Participants are asked to request the shuttle when making their hotel reservation.

VISA
Nationals of ECOWAS member states are exempt from visa procedures.
Participants are requested to verify that their travel documents are valid (passport, ECOWAS
pass, up-to-date yellow vaccination booklet and Covid-19 vaccination card).
Non-nationals of ECOWAS member states will have to complete the procedures with the
Nigerian diplomatic services in their respective countries for this purpose.

• All passengers arriving in Nigeria must present a negative PCR test within 48 hours of
departure.
• Passengers unvaccinated should have a second PCR test on the second day after arrival
in Nigeria and a third PCR test on the seventh day at an approved laboratory (results are
usually available within 48 hours). Until the result of the third test, they are required to be
quarantined at home or in a hotel. The quarantine ends as soon as the traveler receives the
negative result of the third PCR test performed
COVID- 19 •Fully vaccinated passengers are not subject to the 7-day quarantine period. However, they
must perform a second PCR test on the second day after arrival in Nigeria. If they test positive
to this PCR test, they are required to quarantine for a period of 7 days. The quarantine ends
as soon as the traveler receives a negative PCR test result.
•A list of approved laboratories is available on the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control
(NCDC) website.
•Before traveling, passengers should check-in online and prepay for their second
COVID-19 PCR test on the NCDC website: https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/
The travel authorization certificate or QR code will be marked "PAID" if payment has been
made and "UNPAID" if payment has not yet been made. You will not be able to board
without this document

Participants are responsible for their own accommodation. A daily allowance will be paid
HOTEL & AMENITIES to them by the organizations that financed their trip.
As the event will be held at Envoy Hotel (we had obtained a discounted rate of 60,000

It is highly recommended to stay there. However, below are other suggestions. Participants
can book online at sites like www.hotels.ng
which is currently offering a 25% discount on hotel reservations.
 Bolingo Hotel and Towers: located at Independent Avenue,
Phase 2, Abuja, Nigeria. It is a 3-star hotel. Standard rooms from
N18,000 (43.83 USD) to N24,000 (58.44 USD) per night.
 Royal Choice Inn: Located next to the Big Church (National
Christian/Ecumenical Centre) and just behind the Central Bank of
Nigeria headquarters. Standard rooms from N14,000 (USD 34.9)
to N18,000 (USD 43.83) per night. Airport shuttle service is
available at 100 USD per vehicle
 Chelsea Hotel: Located at Plot 123 Cadastral Zone A0, Cadastral
zone, central business district, Abuja. Standard rooms from
N44,000. (107.14 USD).
 Heartland place and event hotel: Located at 82, Ralph
shodeinde street, opposite Federal Ministry of Finance, Central
business district Abuja. Standard rooms from N20,000. (48.70

next to Abia House, Central Business District, Abuja. Standard

MEALS/
REFRESHMENT Participants are responsible for their own meals; a daily allowance is provided by the
organizations that funded their trip.

Refreshments will be served and made available to all participants on the days of the forum
meeting. This will include a coffee break and lunch.

The currency used in Nigeria is the Naira (NGN).

TEMPÉRATURE
It is very hot in Abuja in December. The daytime temperature in December is 21°C in
the morning and rises to 36°C by mid-day, so it is important to drink plenty of water and
stay cool.

ELECTRICITY In Nigeria, the electrical voltage is 230V. Different types of plugs are used in Nigeria.
These are D/G models, so it is recommended to bring plug adapters in case the hotel does
not have them.
