Dear Admission Authority:

The purpose of this letter is to register my interest to study in the programme “Education and
Globalisation, Master of Arts (Education).”

First of all, I always have the practice of continuous improvement through making positive
strides in life. Secondly, after a long career in the field of supply chain sustainability I felt the
urgency of extending my career little further in the field of education. One of the driven
factor was, I want to engage myself to something meaningful. I found that studying in
education can be best possible way to do that. The master’s programme is designed to deal
with the changes and ongoing trends in line with the broader aspects of society. It provides
the opportunity to build a professional base through developing skills to working in local and
international arena that supports my interest to working for community development, which
is directly linked to education and sustainable development. I have a plan of advancing my
career in a way that would certainly benefit the society.

Over the years, alongside my professional career, I never stopped pushing myself towards
enhancing my academic career. I completed Master’s programmes in Governance,
Environmental Science and Business Administration from different educational institutions
with good grades. During my academic studies, I gathered knowledge on various aspects like
people management, gender, corruption, ethics, environment etc. All these studies helped me
later on in my career. More precisely, I always tried to choose programmes that helps me
grow by demonstrating skills in my profession afterwards.

Furthermore, I have a track record of working in the field of sustainability pertinent to a

supply chain, where effective communication identified as the biggest barrier in performing
my job. People found to be either reluctant or uncomfortable communicating their issues to
company management or concerned parties in a workplace. Later I realized that it’s the lack
of quality education is responsible for such situation. This eventually is another point of
motivation to decide on choosing this programme and extending my career in the field of
education.

I tried exploring options that fits me the best with my plan for the near future. I am quite
impressed with the two-year master degree programme in “Education and Graduation: Master
of Arts (Education)” offered by University of Oulu, Finland. I found this programme is quite
distinct comparing the other programmes. The programme website provides the detail of
learning outcomes from the program. This includes studying in an international and
intercultural environment that encourages diversity, gaining skills and competencies on
different subject matters, enrichment of knowledge from classroom sessions and working in
external organization (public, private, and civil society sectors), development of skill for
promoting education and policy making etc. One of the special feature that made the
programme unique is its illustration of education based on globalization.

The word education is deeply connected with globalisation and sustainability. In education,
globalisation is all about the growing movement of people for education around the globe.
Globalisation urges educators to be more inclusive. The biggest task and challenge towards
that is to eliminate major impediments towards quality education and alignment of education
with the global context. I believe the programme “Education and Globalisation, Master of
Arts (Education)” is an advanced degree that broadens the scope of such work with accuracy
and perfection.

Moreover, Quality Education is goal number 4 in the SDG (Sustainable Development Goal)
set by United Nations (UN). It is imperative to develop oneself with real-world skills to build
a better world. Education is the most important tool to expand such skills require for future.
Education is largely associated with someone’s growth in terms of social values, arts, culture,
environmental responsibility and all other related issues. Education widens the understanding
“why it is necessary to build a sustainable world.”

There are certain reasons inspired me choosing this programme for my career enhancements.
These are —

1. My intention to study in education and work in development sector

2. The distinctness of the programme “Education and Globalisaiton, Master of Arts

(Education).” The programme profile found to be quite appealing to me.

3. The programme put emphasis on areas on both local and global level that will help
developing personal skill and competence to handle different subject matters in education
and globalisaiton. Such as – ethics and social justice, diversity, policy and planning,
critical analysis, Interculturalism and comparative research

4. The Scope of work demands meeting new challenges ;

5. The opportunity of doing something meaningful that benefits to the society

6. The opportunity to work with local and international organisations.

Above all, there is good demand of professionals finished study in education. One can excel
himself both locally and internationally in multicultural environment. The demand of
education professionals possessing appropriate skills in multiculturalism is increasing. This
also widens the scope of working with NGOs, donor agencies, educational institution and
other development partners.

On the other hand, the graduates in education and globalisation can find it interesting taking
new challenges and promoting education at the different hierarchies of society. Another
adventure could be preparing the next generation in an alarmingly shrinking world. Besides,
the increased mobility caused by globalization of education can impact some subject areas
pertinent to technology, health and engineering. This can create the urgency of multicultural
studies to guide the career in new directions. Some great features of studying in education
and globalisation involves understanding of multiple cultures, transition and collaboration,
human rights, trends of technology and innovation and living standards around the globe. The
experts on education may attribute the ability to predict situation in advance and start
working to find solutions.

At the end, I am confident that my work experience, educational background and desire to
study in this programme will put me as a potential candidate for this Master’s programme.
Not to mention, but successful completion of this programme will be an achievement of my
life-time. During the coursework, I’ll definitely try to add additional values to the programme
either from professional experience or from my learnings. Last but not the least, I’ll put my
all-out effort on my study as effectively as possible to finish this up satisfactorily.
