BIO CHEM NOTES

CHEMICAL COMMUNICATION
The cells communication with each other that’s for normal cells
Neurotransmitters are secreted by the neural cells
A chemical messenger between a neuron and another target cell: neuron, muscle cell
or cell of a gland
Hormone: A chemical messenger released by an endocrine into the bloodstream
Neuron- a nerve cell Transmitters- for transmission
Hormones- produce by the endocrine glands, cell to cell communication
Neuron has tail part called axon (malinated)
Spingomyelins- lipid molecule which is an important constituents of the neuron-
myelin
Vesicles are the vesicles for the neurotransmitter synthesized in the cell body.
Brought in the terminal part of the axon for temporary storage.
Central nervous system to the motor neuron, motor neuron to the target organ
The release of adrenaline or epinephrine (lift the ref)
Sustain – hormones
Antagonist- blocks a natural receptor and prevents stimulation,
Agonist- c
ompetes with a natural messenger for a receptor site
