CHAPTER IV

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

This chapter presents the interview analysis on the respondents’ response on the interview

conducted by the researchers on the challenges faced by work immersion students in their

workplace.

What do you understand about work immersion?

This question aimed to determine the respondents on their preference regarding work

immersion students that they faced in their workplace. The following are the respondents

answers,

R1. As of me work immersion is not just about sa pag trabaho bitaw, about pod siya’s

they will going to choose, this will practice their skills and attitude towards in the work and their

workplace.
R6. Work immersion for me is to have a experience that we used in the future job.

R7. Work immersion is a practice working in a certain field or office

R8. Work immersiion is to experience para sa atong future ug dali nalang sa ato ang

trabaho kay naa naman tay experience.

R9 As I understand about work immersion it is the students that oblige to send them

through of their field of strands , students experience actual work.

R10. My understanding about wok immersion is preparing students for the preparing

good while training them to work in company an eventually excel in specific career.

This applied that the majority of the respondents for about 60% answered that it’s all about

training and practicing skills and attitudes for their future job, and 30% answered that

experience to prepare on what course do they get in college, and lastly 10% answered that

student experience actual work.

According to Armstrong (1988) training is a systematic development of knowledge, skills and

attitudes by an individual to perform adequately a given task or job. Training according to Gupta

(2000) means “the process of increasing the knowledge and skills for doing a particular job. It is

an organized procedure by which people learn knowledge and skill for a definite purpose. The

purpose of training basically is to bridge the gap between job requirements and present

competence of employee. Training is aimed at improving the behavior and performance of a

person . it is never ending or continuous process “Training must be not confused with education,

so in order to specify what the study means by the word training it is important to differentiate

the two terms.

How do you manage your time in study in work immersion?

This question aimed to determined the respondents on their preferences regarding work

immersion students that they faced in their workplace. The following are the respondents

R1. Time to study sometimes kung dli busy didto sa office which is makahimo mi didto og

1% answered make or have an schedule.

According to Sharma (2016) Time management is important for students to do with focus. Time

management is important for students to get high marks. Student’s success in studies depends

much on managing time efficiently. The habits and morals they acquire during school time and

home will s tick with them throughout the future. Time management is not taught as an

academic subject in schools. Students have to utilize their 24 hours to become the best

students and experts in the subject. The focus of learning time management skills is just to

develop the habits of spending time wisely.

This applied that the highest ranking of the respondents answers is “managing the

student/children attitude” with 20%.findings, decades worth of theory also have characterized

teaching as multidimensional. High-quality teachers are thought and expected-not only to raise

test scores but also to provide emotionally supportive environments that contribute to student’s

social and emotional development, manage classroom behaviors, deliver accurate content, and

support critical thinking (Cohen,2011; Lampert, 2001; Pianta & Hamre, 2009).

the other answer have 10%.

According to Wood & Bandura (1989) as cited in Machmud (2018) states that perception in

completing a job is self-efficacy. Moreover, self-efficacy relates to someone’s confidence in

achieving his/her duties in uncertainty.

While Bandura (1997) as cited in Domenech-Betorel et al. (2017) defined self-efficacy as “an

individual’s belief in his or her own ability to organize and implement action to produce the

desired achievements and results”. Self-efficacy is one’s faith in accomplishment task

successfully. Learners automatically adjust and adopt the new environment they are in for them

to finish the immersion program while developing their efficiency.

R9. So in work habits we are in sport it improve our physical fitness which is it helps us

knowledge to myself that during that things it change my attitudes of being serious at work.

This applied that there are two majority of the respondent answer with 20% “ by adopting

According to Vygotskian theory , learners co-construct knowledge through social interactions

with more knowledgeable conversational partners. Genesee (1995) concurs and writes,

“language is acquired most effectively social situations”(p. 1).

According to Victory Christian International (2016). Immersion increases level of consciousness

about a certain work community. As a students immerse in their workplace of their interest, they

get to know more about the whats, whys, and hows of working in the area. They get a glimpse

of other people’s attitude and principles while being receptive and adjusted to differences and

ironies present in the work environment. In the long run, they gain a depth of readiness needed

for their future professional lives.

According to Carole Unter (2015), Personally, I like meeting people. Talking to people is fun. It’s

great to hear new stories and ideas. I enjoy that feeling of connection that happens when you’re

having a good conversation. New people bring new perspectives, and that’s almost always

valuable or at least entertaining.

According to Terry Schmitz (2019) success in the workplace is not just determined by who

works the hardest or does the “best job”. Technical skills and knowledge are useful, but being

able to build relationships with people is critical to succeeding in the workplace. Social skills are
what enable people to talk to and connect with others. People that are able to form these

According to YKS (2018) they will know about the work ethics, will gain knowledge about the

safety in the workplace, the rights, responsibilities, learning the effective way to resolve conflicts

among coworkers and the work will not be that hard for them if they apply at the same or related
