I have read a quote that says, “Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional” by Roger
Crawford. This reminds me of the uncertainties and challenges of life, that one can choose to fight or to
just do nothing and lose.

The world was again challenged by the surprising pandemic which caught everyone’s life off-guard.
No one was expecting nor prepared for the onslaught of the current virus, the COVID-19. No one is
exempted, all are possible victims of the virus. No race, no ethnicity, no religion, no country, nor faith.
The virus is indeed a big adversary of the whole world. As days, months, and years passes by, the COVID-
19 cases continues to be rampant and continues to reach its highest peak. The virus continues to be
strong, and new strain are being discovered. As a resolution, countries obliged and made a law that
require each citizen to practice helath protocols- practices were done to stop the spread of the virus
and protect the health of everyone. As they say, health is wealth.

At the start of the COVID-19 disease, the government responded quickly by implementing rules and
passing law to the goal of decreasing the cases of COVID-19, all religious sectors were obliged to follow,
since the rules and law is for everyone regardless of religion. However, the strong implementation of
health protocols, did not controlled and stopped that increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
There were community lockdowns, and enhanced community quarantine that were implemented for
the aim of decreasing COVID-19 cases. Despite of the efforts of each concerned organizations and
individuals, the aim seems unclear. Due to lockdown and restrictions, the life of people were ar stake.
Businesses, establishments, some public, and private sectors were obliged to stop operations. With
these, some lose their job, some lose source of income, and some became hopeless and no direction.
Who would believe that the job you have for more than ten years will be lost due to COVID-19? This
COVID-19 really affected the life of people. Most specially those in lower sectors of the community were
affected.

Families lose their members, some die due to the virus, and members of the family who are earning,
and is supplying the needs of the family became unemployed. Theses scenarios, brought different
effects. Some young members of a family stopped education, since no one would be there to supply
their needs. The ones who are earning, and filling the needs of the family were pushed to find a job
which is not related and more less compensated compared to their previous job. Inideed, the COVID-19
virus is a great antagonist. On the other hand, it can also v=bring lessons in life.

The COVID-19 virus tells everyone to be prepared, to be careful, and not to be reluctant of the
sittuations we have, because as the quote above says, that life is full of uncertainties. One shouls also
be flexible in any situations and work areas. No one knows that your workplace would be replace with
something you never imagined. Additionally, as a family, one should be thrifty and practice saving funds
for unexpected situations. Children should be given attention and more priority, their education must
continue in any circumstance. And, one should also think that having a family requires planning and
money that will support the future needs of the children. In case of death, it tells everyone that life is
not ours to keep, that it belongs to someone almighht and powerful. What we have to do is to be careful
and accept whatever may happen. We must do all the possible to be winners in any situations.
