ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION TEXT


Analytical Exposition Text is a text that contains the author's detailed thoughts
about a phenomenon that is around. This text is included in argumentative text
because it shows an opinion or argument against something. The social function
of the Analytical Exposition text is to convince the reader that the topic
presented is an important topic to discuss or get attention by providing
arguments or opinions that support the main idea or topic.

2.PURPOSE ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION

Purpose of Analytical Exposition Text
To convince the reader that the topics presented was an important topic to be
discussed or gained attention by way of providing arguments or opinions that
support the main idea or topic.

3.GENERIC STRUCTURE
The example analytical exposition about an accredited school above has the
following generic structure:
Thesis: it is the main topic of discourse in the analytical exposition essay.
Usually the thesis will be placed in the first paragraph. It also has a text
recognition function. From the text above we see that choosing a school will be
wiser and safer if it is based on school status; accredited or not. Introducing the
topic and indicating the position of the speaker or writer; An outline of the
argument is presented.
Argument: argument is the heart of analytical exposition. In the absence of
arguments, the analytical will say nothing because the thesis has to be
evaluated, whether it is right or wrong later, it doesn't matter.
Repetition: it is the author's thesis restated in other words. The aim is to
strengthen the thesis. From the text above, we realize that choosing an
accredited school is very important. Reiteration (restatement), restates speaker
or writer's position

4.LANGUAGE FEATUVES
Still citing the Ministry of Education and Culture's Learning Resources
(seamolec), the linguistic characteristics of analytical exposition text are:

and adding information

4. The tenses used are simple present tense.

5.AN EXAMPLE OF ANALYTICAL


EXPOSITION
Violators of the COVID-19 health protocol must be
sanctioned.
Violators of the COVID-19 health protocol must be sanctioned. As we know,
the number of people infected with the covid virus is still increasing in our
country, but some people are still facing health protocols by not wearing masks
and not keeping a distance. First, violators will still be reminded by the health
protocols that will be advised if they are not sanctioned. By being sanctioned,
they will feel deterred and embarrassed so they will obey the rules given.
Second, by sanctioning violators, they will understand responsibility. Not only
preventing us from being infected by the virus, but complying with health
protocols as well as maintaining the safety of others. We may not feel infected,
but at least we can prevent this from happening by keeping our distance and
wearing masks. In this way, we will fulfill our responsibilities to ourselves and
to others. Lastly, sanctioning violators will make them more aware of the
dangers of COVID-19. It said that the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic,
which means this virus is very dangerous, so it is best to take care of your health
and avoid COVID-19. Therefore, violators of the health protocol should be
penalized for the reasons mentioned above.
The general structure :
1. analysis of Thesis is in the first paragraph, "COVID-19 health protocol
violators should be sanctioned. As we know...". In the first paragraph the
author explains the topic of the problem, namely the violators of the
Covid-19 health protocol. He expressed his opinion that violators should
be punished.
2. Arguments are in the second, third, and fourth paragraphs. In this section,
the author provides three arguments to support his opinion.
3. Reiteration is in the last sentence, "Therefore, the health protocol
violators should be sanctioned because of the reasons given above." In
this section, the writer repeats or affirms his opinion after presenting
several arguments.
