THE PASSIVE

Pasiv je veoma popularan u Engleskom jeziku. Pasivna recenica se dobija


kada se objekat aktivne recenice postavi na mesto subjekta pasivne. Zatim se
glagol TO BE u pasivnoj recenici stavlja u ono vreme u kojem je vreme
aktivne recenice. I na kraju glavni glagol aktivne recenice ide u PAST
PARTICIPLE.
verb object
aktivna: People speak English everywhere.
subject ↓ ↓
pasivna: English is spoken everywhere.

TENSE STUCTURE EXAMPLE


Simple present am/is/are + past p.p. English is spoken here.
Present continuous am/is/are being + p.p. The house is being painted.
Simple past was/ were + p.p. I wasn’t invited, but I went
anyway.
Past continuous was/were being+ p.p. I felt as if I was being watched.
Present perfect have/has been+ p.p. Has Mary been told?
Past perfect had been + p.p. I knew why I had been chosen.
Will future will be + p.p. You will be told when the time
comes.
Future perfect will have been + p.p. Everything will have been done
by Tuesday.
Going to future am/is/are going to be Who is going to be invited?
+ p.p.
Modals must be/ can be/ may This work must be done.
be/ would be/ should Our house can be repaired.
be/ could be + p.p.
