II. Essay Test.

Direction: Explains each questions before you begin writing, read the passage
carefully and plan what you will say. Your essay should be as well as organized and
as carefully written as you can make it. Explain each questions with three to
five sentences only. (5pts. each item)
1. How does a foreign language help you?
● The more you use your brain to learn new skills, the more efficient its
functions become. Learning a new language drives your brain to become
acquainted with new grammatical and vocabulary rules. It trains your
memory to remember new words, make connections between them, and
apply them in context.
2. What is challenging about learning Korean language?
● Korea has single and double consonants, as well as a large number of vowels,
which can be difficult for a beginner to learn. Because Korean does not reuse
sounds as frequently as other languages, such as English, the complex vowel
sounds are difficult to understand at first.
3. What is the purpose of Korean language?

● Because of South Korea's powerful economy, geopolitical importance, and

strong influence in Asian pop culture, Korean is becoming an increasingly
significant language on the global stage. The majority of Korean-speaking
people speak one of five major dialects, but the standard language is based
on Seoul's speech in South Korea.
