I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:


A. Identify the parts of the body;
B. Appreciate the importance of the body;
C. Give the function of the different parts of the body.

1. Opening Prayer

Everybody, please stand up for the opening (Emil lead the prayer)

2. Greetings

Okay! Very good! So now we will sing together

2. Presentation

Ok class, before we start our discussion I have a


question. What is the song all about?
● The song is all about our body parts.

Very good! So, class our lesson for today is all


about the parts of the body and its function.
● A picture of a child.
What can you see on the board?
● Body of a child.
● Human Body.
I have here a picture of a child, I will discuss
each part and its function. Please lend me your
ears and take note. Because later on we will
have an activity.

Head - the part of the body above the neck


where the eyes, nose, mouth, ears and brain are.

Eyes - one of the two organs in your face that


are used for seeing.

Ears - are organs that provide two main


functions: hearing and balance.

Nose - Your nose gives you a sense of smell.

Mouth - Breathing, Chewing, Digesting foods


and drinks, Tasting, Talking and swallowing in
others words eating.

Hand - is to grip, grasp and form precise


movements e.g. writing and sewing.

Arm - is to reach out and grab anything, from


food to tools to hand hold.

Leg - produce movements such as standing,


walking, running, and jumping.

Knees - helps to lower and raise the body,


provides stability.

Toes - help to trust your body forward when


you walk, they actually help increase the length
of your stride allowing you to run faster.

3. Practice

So class, we will play the game “Simon Says”

The students should follow what Simon says.


Students who fail to follow the game are
eliminated, but if you continue or you are the
winner, you will be given a prize. Are you ready
children?

4. Application

I have something to show you. Here’s a chart of the


human body. I would like you to identify the body
parts. On the other side of the picture, the names of
body parts are pasted. You will get them and put
them in the right place in an empty box, pointing to
the parts of a human body.
Who would like to volunteer to put the name of
a body part? I need 10 volunteers, please raise
your hand if you want to volunteer.
