First Day of School

By Elvie D. Saplagio

It is the first day of school. I woke up early so I will not be

late. I fixed the bed and went to the kitchen to help my mother.
We used the stove to cook rice and fish. We prepared some juice
and bread for snacks. I took a bath and ate my breakfast. When
all is set, Mama and I sat down together so I can study and learn
my lessons. I use my time wisely to learn new things with the help of
the module my teacher sent to me. I study from home due to the
COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, with a smile on my face, I hope and
pray that this too shall pass.

1. Why did the child wake up early?

2. What did she do in the kitchen?

3. Who helps her in studying her lessons?
4. Can you still learn even if you only study from home? Why?
5. How do you feel about this pandemic?

a, i, o, and u sound that end with letter e?

Let Us Reflect

“The more you read, the more things you know. The more that
you learn, the more places you’ll go.” This is a famous quote by Dr
Suess, and it’s definitely true.

I am encouraging you to read long a, i, o, u sound (ending in e)

as it may help you learn more words. Reading is important as it
helps you to discover new things. It helps develop your mind and
imagination. It also helps to improve your vocabulary, spelling,
and both your written and spoken communication in general. It
plays an important part in building self-confidence. Learning to
read is essential in our society.
In order to accomplish success, one needs to have good
reading and comprehension skills. Without these skills you will
struggle to grow academically as reading is the foundation of all
academic subjects and it also influences your ability to write.
Congratulations for striving hard to reach the end of this
module. Keep reading and learning. Good luck!
