1. What is climate change?

Weather is the totality of all atmospheric phenomena while climate is average weather. What we
are doing is changing the average weather. If we are changing average weather, we’re putting at
risk the entire economies that rely on predictability.
2. Why is climate change dangerous?

We are creating the possibility of incremental or large-scale collapse in the way that economies
are run around the world. It has an impact on our health. It worsens the air and water quality.
Also increases the spread of certain diseases and altering the frequency or intensity of extreme
weather events. It also causes high sea levels. Results to more extreme winter conditions on the
other part of the world. Arctic warming creating more intense blizzards while warming seas
creating more intense typhoons. Yolanda, increased its intensity because warm seas serve as fuel
for storms adding to the wind speed and intensity of the typhoon.
3. What are the reversible and irreversible impacts of climate change?

Sea levels and melting glaciers. Glaciers are not ice that floats on the water but sit on masses of
land, once they melt, they add to the volume of water. The people living in coastal cities are at
risk with the sea levels. There is a large chance that the coast will be later part of the sea. Sea
levels cannot be reversed.
4. What government policies should be implemented to lessen the impact of climate
change?
Transitioning to clean energy.

Anthropogenic influence – influence of humans. Impact on our surroundings or the

environment.
Specialization is not enough.
Solutions in terms of energy, infrastructure, transport or forests will be felt in the future.
Earth is in an optimal setting. It has enough heat. Enough setting that allows life to flourish but
we’re messing with the settings.
