Preface
• With the popularity of wireless networks in industries such as government,
enterprise, finance, and campus, there are increasingly higher requirements on
wireless network experience, which poses challenges to Wi-Fi builders. Strict pre-
sales network planning and delivery acceptance are important methods for
evaluating and ensuring network quality.

• This document will introduce how to use the WLAN Planner and CloudCampus
APP.

WLAN Planner Introduction
WLAN Planner is a web-based WLAN planning tool that provides functions such as environment
drawing, AP deployment, signal simulation, and report generation. It helps engineers efficiently plan
WLAN networks.

Logging In to ServiceTurbo Cloud
• The WLAN Planner is hosted on the ServiceTurbo Cloud platform and can be used only after you log in to the
platform.

• Login and account application


▫ Access to ServiceTurbo Cloud: https://serviceturbo-cloud.huawei.com
▫ Click “Log In” in the upper right corner in the interface and use a Huawei account or Uniportal
account to log in. If you don't have an Uniportal account, click “Register” to get one.

WLAN Planner Permission
• After successful login, go to the “Tool Application Market” to search for WLAN Planner and start the tool.
• By default, users of Huawei account, ASP account, and CSP account have the permission to use the WLAN
Planner.
• If you do not have the permission, click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the WLAN Planner card to
submit an unlocking application as prompted. After the application is submitted, you can go to My WorkSpace
> My Application > Permission Application to view the approval progress.

Automatic-recognition: Automatically

the wall type is set, obstacles are

Step 1. Create a project.


Create indoor or outdoor projects based on
drawings or AutoNavi Map.

Step 2: Automatically identify obstacles.


Manually draw or automatically identify
obstacles.
Step 3: Set areas.
Draw areas with different coverage field
strength and capacity requirements.

Step 4: Automatically deploy APs in one click.


Automatically deploy APs and calculate channels
based on the configured areas in one click.

Step 5: View the simulation diagrams.

Step 1: Create a Project
Create a new project: Enter the project name, select the region and rep
office, and then select the country/region.

Tip: The country code corresponding to


the country and region specifies
available channels and EIRP
requirements.

Step 2.1: Create Buildings and Floors
After entering the project, create buildings and floors and import the
drawing. An indoor scenario is used as an example here:

Step 2.2: Import Drawings and Draw

Step 3: Area Setting
Before using the tool to automatically deploy APs, you need to set parameters
for the target area. If you manually deploy APs, skip this step.

Floor View: Orbit Mode
The objective of 3D simulation is to evaluate whether the network planning and deployment are reasonable and simulate the roaming
effect.
Click to open the 3D floor view, as shown in the following figure.

Tips:

CloudCampus APP Overview
• CloudCampus is a mobile app that integrates functions such as field strength detection and interference
test. It is used for acceptance tests after network deployment. This greatly reduces the workload of
wireless O&M personnel and simplifies maintenance.

Wi-Fi Status: Displays the status of the current Wi-Fi network, such as the signal
strength, channel, and negotiated rate.
Wi-Fi Stability: Allows you to test the stability of the current Wi-Fi network.
Find AP: Displays the vendors of neighbouring APs, roughly locates the APs, and
checks interference in the environment.
Interference: Displays signal interference on the current network.
Terminal Scan: Obtains information about unauthorized access terminals at anytime,
facilitating terminal management by network O&M personnel.

Ping: Performs connectivity test, with common ping addresses preset.


Speed Test: Supports network speed tests for the Internet and intranet.
iPerf: Network performance test tool, allowing you test the TCP and UDP bandwidth quality.
Roaming Experience: Allows you to move in the entire coverage area and performs continuous
test on certain points to test the roaming function.
Game Test: Allows you to check the network stability and test the fluctuation and packet
loss rate of the network.
Media Test: Tests the experience of watching video.
Tracert: Performs the tracert test, with common tracert addresses preset.

Toolkit (Continued)
Ordinary Indoor Test: No project is created on the cloud-based WLAN Planner. Import
drawings to the app for network tests and export reports.

Highway Test: Allows you to move in the highway scenario and record surrounding Wi-
Fi information to provide reference for deploying APs and configuring channels on
the highway.

Automatic Test: Monitors the Wi-Fi network status at a specified position for a long
time.

Walking Test: Monitors Wi-Fi signals and pings the gateway in real time to observe
the signal strength, gateway connectivity, and trend charts of other test items.

Scan: Allows you to scan the barcode of a device, including the SN and MAC address,
and record the scanned data in an Excel file (WAC can be imported) to facilitate the
work of testers.
Antenna Alignment: Helps in AP antenna alignment for network bridge scenario.
Bluetooth Serial Port: Allows you to log in to the AP through the bluetooth serial
port, which is similar to the IPOP on the mobile phone.
Wi-Fi Serial Port: Log in to the AP through the management VAP, which is similar to
the IPOP on the mobile phone.
Offline Diagnosis: Obtains cloud AP logs, helping locate unexpected going-offline of
cloud APs.
AP Mode Switch: Switch AP mode via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
