There are three situations where a vāmana akṣara can be considered

trivikrama:

1. When two consonants conjoined together (a + sat-sañgas) they


are pronounced as the long vowel– Paḍṁa (the vāmana a
followed by the conjuct consonants dm)
2. a + ṁ = phalaṁ
3. a+ ḥ = rāmah

Three Operations (karyas)


1. Adesa Virinci = Substitution/or replacement
a. Mahā + utsvah = Mahotsvaḥ

2. āgamo (viṣṇu) = insertion


a. San + Avyaya = Sann Avyaya

3. Lopo Hara = Deletion


Arjunah + uvāca = arjuna uvāca

Whereas Sanskrit has
1. Masculine (Purushottama lingah)
2. Feminine words (Laksmi Lingah)
3. Neuter (Brahma Lingah)

Sarveśvara Sandhi
Nityā + Ananda = Nityānanda
Parama + Isvara = Paramesvara
