Concept note: The Learners will Research and understand the connection between different
disciplines of Social sciences through the topic of the project.
Learning objectives/ Expected learning outcomes:
The learner will:
• Trace the history of globalization and point out the shifts within the process
• Analyse the implication of globalization on local economies.
• Examines the importance of transportation for the economic growth and development
in India.
• Analyse the impact of roadways and railways on the national economy
• Evaluates the challenges faced by the roadways and railway sector in the country
• Discuss how globalization is experienced

• Enumerates how the transportation works as a life line of economy.

Dear Students,
This is to inform you that as per CBSE syllabus for session 2023-24 of Social Science, You
have to do an interdisciplinary project
Every Saturday this IDP activity will be conducted.
Second Stage: Activity details:
Topic: India and the Great Depression
Students to collect information related to India’s economic condition during the Great
Depression and relate it to the present economic condition of India and US. As a group
activity they need to present a collage of their findings on an A4 size sheet
Topic: Rebuilding the World Economy and Interlinking Production across countries
Students to go through the given handout with information about process taken to rebuild
economy and how the production across countries got interlinked. All the groups have to
compile the information on the post-war recovery efforts and their impact on the global
economy. Study the role of the Bretton Woods Institutions in rebuilding the world economy
and present their findings on an A4 size sheet.
Points to Note: Each student of the group to make individual file (to be submitted at the end
of the project work).
❖ This task to be completed by 23th JULY
❖ The third stage of the project will be informed next week.
❖ The complete interdisciplinary project consists of 5 marks.
❖ Students are requested to take up this task seriously as the final report of this project
will be submitted to CBSE
